This morning I went to a job interview, which went great, and my mom and I decided to celebrate by going through the drive-thru at McDonalds. I ordered a bacon and egg breakfast bagel (I love those). When I got it, the receipt just said "Bacon Bagel" so my mom said "I wonder if they forgot to put egg on it." I opened it to check and I could not see the egg for some reason. Maybe the power of suggestion, but all I saw was cheese and bacon. So my mom stopped and I went inside and told the woman there was no egg on my bagel. She took it to a counter, opened it, brought it back and said "There's egg on this bagel." I opened it and she pointed out the folded egg. It was totally bizarre, I don't know why I didn't see it before. The lady was nice, though, she didn't act like I was an idiot. I apologized and left. I think maybe I was expecting to see the white round egg that you get on a McMuffin? My mom said maybe she'll show up here and tell everyone about how someone came in and complained about not having something that she did have.
Maybe she just slipped it on there when I wasn't looking?
I'm just glad I saved my dumb for McDonalds and not the interview.

Yeah, situational blindness can lead to some funny situations. Like me with stuff in the fridge. It was nice of her to not be condecending or anything about your mistake.
