I think it still counts as a Sighting if I have beef with a company/store policy, as opposed to employees or whatever. Pardon, I'm writing this still in the throes of deep irritation.
I understand the idea and reason behind 'secured merchandise', I really do. Shit people are likely to steal is locked up in some way or another. But holy hell this is getting excessive. Both my Usual Target and Usual Walmart have done this to me now, more than once, for things ranging from a smegging pack of razor blades to a slightly-expensive Lego set.
1. I have to spend 5-10 minutes just finding someone to unlock the cabinet or shelf grabber,
2. ...they pluck it from my hands like I'm a child...
3. ......escort me to the front of the bloody store...
4. .........hand it to the cashier or self-check attendant...
5. ............who will not let me so much as touch the product until I'm at a register...
Step 1, I get. Step 1 is acceptable. It's how it Used To Be (albeit for far fewer products!).
Steps 2 through 5 piss me right the hell off. To the stores that do this, your self-checks are the kind that pop a review survey now and then. Even though I know it's not going to mean a damn thing in the greater scheme, enjoy the one-star rating every single time I ever have to interact with this policy.
