  • Christmas crisis

We have a Green Mermaid coffee kiosk in the store where I work. I went there the other day to get something for my break and the barista was saying they'd had a lot of complaints because ... they'd run out of the freebie red cups.

They get only a limited number and it's first-come, first-get-a-freebie but apparently a lot of customers felt that, despite showing up at 6 p.m. or later, they still should get a free red holiday cup.

The ultimate in First World problems.

I would not object at all if the only cups the girl at Barstruck had to offer me were not red holiday ones, but just a nice pair of seasonal C cups

Oh honestly. As if cups were the most important thing in the world. Don't they understand they can likely get those same cups on Ebay in a couple of months?
Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

Why wait a couple of months? You can get the Starbucks bear cups on Amazon for $20.

As long as it holds coffee, I hardly care about the cup!

There was a NAR story this week where the cussed-omer was accusing the staff of selling the cups on ebay themselves. I can understand not wanting to give money to scalpers, but how many of those complaining about not getting cups in-store are actually wanting them for themselves as opposed to trying to resell them anyway?

Yep. It's always projection with these people. Projection and the complete inability to understand that they are not the only people in the world.

I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

How dare you imply they're not the main character.

That coffee really isn't worth the cup it comes in.
