Classic Grocery Store Sighting

The girlfriend and I headed out to grab lunch and dinner yesterday.

Grocery store was packed!

The express line had a line up that extended halfway down the aisle across from it.

Its cramped, everyone has a cart except for me, so moving is tight.

The woman in front of me sees an elderly lady with a cart.

Inside this cart sits, her purse and ..........drumrollllllllllllllll

1 glass bottle of jam.

So the lady in front of me lets the elderly lady cut the line.

So after the elderly lady has finished her transaction, I hear " Ma'am ! ma'am ! you forget your jam ! "

She was halfway out the door putting the cart away and didn't even realize she forgot the one thing that was so vitally important to venture into the madness of that store and protect with the use of an entire cart.

/facepalm

The whole line started laughing hysterically, while simultaneously giving evil glares to a second elderly woman with 2 things in her cart that was looking like she didn't know where the line started to cut in. ( I think she was trying to get sympathy like the first lady, but unfortunately we all just wanted to be out of there )

I made sure she didn't get ahead of me ! : )

I work at a grocery store. You'd be suprised at how many times people forgot single items they come in for.

It happens a lot in convenience stores too. Mostly to people who use their Mastercards to buy cigarettes.

My aunt told us years ago of the time she was at the drive thru for McDonalds, paid for her food, then drove off without it. She realized a few minutes later, went back and they had set it aside in case she did come back.
