Then I spotted them. Not one, not two or even three blue-vested workers, but a flock of four of them, all huddled around the playable game systems, tearing up some screaming unidentifiable song on Guitar Hero 2.

Now, giving the benefit of the doubt, thinking the guys might all be on break, I walk over to them and ask one of the blue-vested spectators if he could tell me where the person working electronics might be. Then, not even turning to see who was talking to him, spectator-boy said. "Dude's playin' da game and he's killin' it! Give him a bit, will ya?" Alllllllrighty then.

I now have two options that I thought of at the time. 1. Get all nasty on his ass, scream and yell and demand service, or 2. (the option I chose) walk around them, reach over and turn off the game system.

The Hero says, "What the Fu..?" and the whole flock looks at me. I explained to him that he should be glad that a customer turned it off, because if I had been his supervisor, he would most likely be heading out the door with his sphincter clogged with his supervisor's footwear. He seemed to understand, or at least the hostility left his face. The spectators slowly turned and walked away.

As it turns out, the keyboard/mouse I was looking for was on display just outside the Electronics Department on an end cap with other sale items.

Those douche bags were indeed lucky it was you as a customer. If an SC caught that, they would've had a field day sending in a complaint or demanding management. If it was their supervisor, oh man they probably would be out on their asses with pink slips.

Yes, S-Video is the name of the computer-tv ports and cable. Most TVs do have this port on the back of them, but video cards are a little less likely. The cables look like either of these:

If you look at video cards, they should have in the tech specs whether they contain that port or not. If your graphics card is onboard, then unless you have a media pc, I would highly doubt that it has that port. Have fun, and remember, we are here for you in the tech support threads if you need us.

The thing I was thinking was that normally this ...
        Snip Snip....

My next purchase for the computer just might be some kind of thing that will let me use my TV as a monitor. If I only knew what to call such a thing when I google it, I might get one sooner than later.

          A little hint.....

People like that, who park right in the middle of the aisle and pretend to ignore you when you say "excuse me", they aren't going to move. You must start bashing into them, or if you don't have a cart, give em a nice rough rub with your shoulders.
Or the ones that run into you and say, condescendingly, "That's alright", when you, very obviously say, sarcastically, "Excuse me." Had some old fart do that to me the other day. Hit me hard enough to cause me to take a step back. There was another lady that was close by and saw what happened....we just looked at each other incredulously!

I would like to contest that assertion, as I have met several people that I have seen livid, yet had all the intimidation ability of a wet dishrag. Most of them were tiny people, but there were some larger folk. Some people just don't have it in them to be intimidating.
I'm not that big, but I can scare the hell out of people when I get pissed enough. I've been told that my eyes flash.

With the aisle blockers i give them 2 chances with excuse me, then shove it out of the way..
This wasn't an option in this case as the woman was leaning on the cart and I didn't want to injure her by moving the cart causing her to lose her balance or anything.

I'm not that big, but I can scare the hell out of people when I get pissed enough.
When I was younger and at my peak height and musculature, people used to give me wide berth, sometimes crossing the street to avoid passing me. (mostly women) Since I have gotten older, lost a good bit of height and my face has started to wrinkle and my hairline recede, I'm not as intimidating as I used to be. This is even more evident because I used to have a 54 inch chest and a 46 inch waist. Unfortunately now, those figures are reversed.

The problem with all this is that I never was a violent man. I try to treat other people as I would like to be treated, though like the ladies using their feminine wiles to their advantage, (admit it, you do) I have used my size to my advantage in some cases.

I have always said that there isn't a man I'm afraid of, but women, especially the smaller ones, scare the hell out of me.

I don't feel sorry for those guys or anything, but I wouldn't have done what you did.
I figured that the guys were young (probably just out of high school) and might better learn from someone that wasn't an authority figure that what they were doing wasn't acceptable. As I said, better me bringing this to their attention in my way than their supervisor bringing it to their attention in their way.

I have checked this out a little bit. I don't have any of the external ports on my computer, including the ones illustrated by Shabo. What I have learned is that the resolution of computer monitors and televisions (especially the 36" CRT TV I have) is totally different. My TV has about 500 lines of resolution while the monitor has about 1500. The conversion necessary to get my computer's output onto my TV screen would totally wipe out any quality of viewing. So what I'm going to do is to start looking into getting an LCD HDTV, since my TV won't work in a little over a year anyway.

This is true. My best friend C is a female. She's 5'3 and I'm 6'2 and truth be told that I am scared of her. Of the few times that I have pissed her off she can leave people ten times her size trembling. Great person but people learn quickly not to get on her bad side.

As for me, I'm skinny and tall. I don't look intimidating but from what I've been told one of my friends was scared to go near me for a while after I blew up on someone.

I probably wouldn't have turned off the game. Mostly because I'd be too annoyed to want to teach them a lesson. I'd get a manager. And, I'd walk anywhere in the store, including the back areas, to find one.

When I encounter a blocked aisle, people get two polite "excuse me"s, one stern "excuse me", and then, "Hey, quit blocking the fucking aisle."

Nothing is more scary than a woman on a rampage.

Just remember, the bigger the tv, the better the resolution it can handle, and the better graphics card you're going to "need". (Hey, if you gotta justify spending $300+ on a top of the line card, this is the perfect excuse!) And yes, there is really no good way or reason to get the CRT tvs to display as a computer screen.

On the plus side, there are some tvs that double as computer monitors- ie have a DVI or VGA port built into the TV. That might be your best option there. But still, upgrading the vid card wouldn't hurt either.
