Yet another "do you work here?"

This is my favourite one so far.

Myself and IceLee are in the process of moving in together (our furniture goes in on Tuesday) and got engaged. So on the first day of the post-christmas sales we hit the shops pretty hard (over $500 of kitchenware, bedding, etc, but with the cash and gift cards we got for christmas and as engagement gifts it only cost us around $200).

Anyway, we were in K-Mart. Neither of us wearing anything that remotely resembles the K-Mart uniform. In the bedding department, looking at sheets and pillowcases. Both pushing trolleys full of kitchen stuff.

And this older man comes up to IceLee and asks if she works there and where the bedding department is.

Did IceLee, after looking all around at the *gasp* bedding on the shelves, then direct that customer to the corner of the store furthest from where you happened to be? It's what I'd have been tempted to do.

I would think of doing something similar. If it were me I'd look around all confused, shrug my shoulders and say, "Honestly, I don't know where the bedding department is."

Sadly, we didn't think of that.

Come to think of it, that particular K-Mart is in a mall so maybe we should have redirected him to another store.

We later proceeded to find an actual employee and politely ask if they had any covers for U-shaped pillows. Because of our lack of suckiness he stopped what he was doing and went to the trouble of searching the entire department until he found what appeared to be the last one.

Sadly, I didnt think of that, but I had to point out the curtains he was examining was curtains and not bed sheets XD hence that moment occuring... I reckon he needs a new pair of glasses!
