  • Cutting on Line at McDonalds

We were at a fast food restaurant for lunch today and we were waiting for our food to be prepared. A woman came up next to us and threw her meal on the counter. She said something to the effect of "this isn't right!". She wan't that loud, but she was very demanding, curt, and self-serving. This customer cut in between a line of people who were waiting for their food instead of waiting for a cashier to be open.

Although I know that people are often impatient and rude in fast food restaurants, I had not been cut off by anyone on line in a while. Her treatment of the staff was pretty sucky too.

I tend to go to the front of line when they've gotten my meal wrong. I've already waited through the line like one should ... and, they screwed it up.

On the other hand, there's no excuse for her manner. It's usually an honest mistake and simply pointing out the error politely often gets things rectified quickly.

Me too, but I would quietly get someone's attention and tell them what the problem was, not throw things and yell...

Oh, of course no yelling. Usually, I try to flag down a manager or a supervisor, someone not directly running a register to get things fixed. Hopefully, I'm not affecting the flow of traffic too much.

I know what you mean. I should have been clearer. She cut past the customers (including us) who were standing on the side and waiting for their food. The employees were all obviously busy, and she had the gall to elbow us out of the way and complain.

She wasn't the worst SC ever, but she was pushy and inconsiderate. I've seen worse customers, however.
