fedex up here has been known to do that, i've heard about UPS having stickier fingers than the rest for firearms, i guess the USPS is becoming the only way to go(except for certain items they won't ship, then fedex)

My dad worked for them for 1 week, until they got rid of him. They would have the drivers(he was one) drive all over the state. And if they went over the hours, they would not pay for it. And often, he would get back late. He was just beginning to get used to the job and they fired him. He said it was messed up, but he is glad they done that. Most of the drivers, drove recklessly. While waiting for my dad to get off work to pick him up. I personally saw 7 drivers acting like assholes while driving.

It also depends on which business segment you talk to. In the UK if you get people who worked at Securicor Omega before it was taken over you get good service. DHL's corporate ethos seemed to be right way, wrong way, do it our way.

See, that explains everything to me.

They treat their employees like crap, and probably pay them crap too. So there's no incentive to do a good job.

Bad corporate culture = bad customer service.

If you love one, and all the others really do completely suck, how can they stay in business?
Simple answer: Not everyone can agree on what's the best.

Example(s): I like Dominos pizza. Other people loathe it. JustADude, for example, LOVES Papa John's. I would rather starve to death than eat that.

I think the DHL depot around here drove down the street in the ghetto with a bullhorn to do their hiring. These kids are 18-25(some look a little younger than that) and look like thugs. They drive horribly, as I see their vans pulled over about twice a month, and one that used to drop deliveries off to us had big gouge marks down both sides from sideswiping dock poles or something. When was the last time you saw a UPS or FedEx van pulled over, or damaged? I can't even remember. If DHL wants to compete with the big boys, they need to pull their shit together.

Interesting how many people have bad things to say about DHL. Why they're still in business, I have no idea.
Because DHL goes into countries theat the others won't (or can't due to the laws of the nation they are incorperated in, i.e. FedEx and Cuba). That really seems to be the one big competative advantage. I still wouldn't use them after some of the stories I'm hearing here.

I must be in the minority because I have never had a problem with DHL.

Does it count as never having a problem with DHL if I've never used their service?

"I" (although for pedant in me) "Aye"

At my last job we used DHL a lot, we had more breakages and faults through them than any other.

DHL, Purolator, US Postal Service and Canada Post are the 4 only delivery services I'll use.

UPS, FedEx = Bullshit, I've NEVER received a package from either of them on time, and usually they leave a delivery notice on the door even though it's an office, during the middle of the day, with the door open. DHL, Puro, USPS and CP have always delivered on time and never anything damaged (UPS = damage)

                              Proof DHL sucks:

We have a daily pickup from DHL in our office plus they're there anyway 2-4 days a wwk to deliver packages.

I've had 3 packages sitting in the mail room for over 2 weeks waiting to be picked up...

Sounds like my son's father's work. They receive and send shipments for the university's medical/research labs. They're suppose to have a DHL pick up (along with UPS and FedEx)

They've had their DHL packages sitting there for 2 weeks cuz the driver refused to do the pickup.
