Please, shut the "F" up. Also, shut your baby up. You are not the only 2 in the place. The employees might have thought so, since your sister works for them. But seriously, shut up. I do not need to hear you going over what you wanted. Also take that baby outside. No one in here wants to hear all that crying. I like to actually enjoy my time, when I am out eating.

AMEN BROTHER... I was at the hollywood connection in West Valley today (ok, between the fact it is a family fun center and the fact that it is WVC should have warned me in advance... I don't know why it is that everyone without parenting skills seems to be attracted to west side attractions but it's really annoying because that's about all the budget I have). I was there waiting for a movie and having dinner at their little restaurant there and there were 2 kids fighting... you know, I can understand a little roudiness in a place like that (they have roller skating, indoor mini golf, a few midway style rides, an arcade, an ice cream shop, a 50s restaurant, and a 15 screen theatre) but fighting... and the parents were just like "oh let them be kids, aren't they cute"... umm no, they are annoying brats now get them under control
...sorry about the thread jack.If you wish to find meaning, listen to the music not the song

I dont tend to go to "family" resturants, because of that exact reason. I cant stand noise from strange children, it is soooooo annoying. it is for that reason why I avoid places like denny's, Ihop, and any fast food place unless its the drive through, I dont think its fair for me to go there and expect children to be silent.
If I go to an upscale place however, I expect that children are kept under control and use there "inside voices". Im not paying $60 for my dinner to hear your kid scream!
What I wouldnt give for an child free resturant,
my favourite team mate (sarcasm) thinks that it would be against human rights to ban children from a resturant. I think it would make millions, and it would keep those angry glares away from parents who really dont need them.I wasnt put on this earth to make you feel like a man ~ Mary Bertone

It would be illegal to forbid children in restaurants, with the exception of bars.
However, nowhere anywhere does it say that an establishment HAS to have booster seats and high chairs. Ergo, an owner of a restaurant wants a more adult, less family-like atmosphere...don't provide booster seats and high chairs. Voila.....parents will be pissed, but people who want a quiet intimate night out with adults will enjoy it and business truly will not suffer that much! You really need to see a neurologist. - Wagegoth

If you're running an adult oriented restaurant, you're most likely serving alcohol. Simply require that everyone that enters must be 21 or older, and have the host/hostess card them. Being carded is a small price to pay to avoid the children, right?

There is a cafe in north Chicago that states that all children that come must be well-behaved. It's called A Taste of Heaven Cafe.
Here's a link to a New York Times article about it:

i probably should mention also that all screens use brand new christie dlp digital projectors, about half of them have new thx sound equipment and screen 9 is a HUGE screen, i'd say it's halfway to imax... i love the facilities, hate some of the people that go there. Oh, did I mention that evening tickets are only $8.50 and dinners average $7.50 a person... not bad for a full service restaurant...Quoth BeckySunshine View PostI want to go there!!! :jumping up and down in excitement:

I worked as a hostess for a local Italian restaurant/lounge. We did take walk-ins and reservations, but Friday and Saturday nights were the busiest nights to get in the lounge. There was this reservation party "Rice" that had a bad reputation of making a reservation, then canceling for the lounge multiple times. Whenever they came in, they had their grandchild with them who was about 5 years old, running amok where there were people dancing, drinking and the staff members walking back and forth with trays of food, drinks and the like, even after we've told the grandparents to stop letting the little
run around the place. Man, kids these days are spoiled rotten, it's not even funny.

Hmm, thinking on this, I'm not sure it would be illegal. If it were well posted, and equally enforced, there is no reason why you couldn't have an age limit on your restaurant. Doesn't Disney have a couple of no-kids restaurants now? I thought I saw a big row about that a little while ago.Quoth blas87 View PostIt would be illegal to forbid children in restaurants, with the exception of bars. The Rich keep getting richer because they keep doing what it was that made them rich. I think oyu could ban children so long as everyone under age x was banned(i'm thinking say 12) and you rely on parent word of mouth. If you then ask them to leave because they act up then its going to become a problem....*ducks the flying subpoenas*
