Entitlement whorism trumps politics

OK, so I probably made up that "-ism." Leave me alone, it's been a long day (and it's not even 3).

In my research class my professor asked us how many of us wrote to our congressperson/political representative. NO ONE raised their hands. (Myself included ). But here's the kicker...

"How many of you have written or called a company to complain about something?"

I think almost 3/4 of the class raised their hands. Nothing wrong with that, right? I'm sure we've all had legitimate complaints. But when she asked why, some genius answered:

"Because I've gotten a lot of free stuff." <---- me

Let's hope none of us run into this guy....

Does it count if it's not necessarily the representative for your particular electorate, but rather the representative most responsible for, or most likely to act on, the particular issue you want to talk about?
