    7.) Scarred for life.

Wandering through clothing, I see some guy looking at a number of jeans. He seems to have several sizes, and comments as I near. "I hate it when I can't remember my size." (side note: How do you forget what size you wear? I can understand that in length since even my size varies...but waist?) Wandering a bit further I happen to look back only to see this guy suddenly drop his pants revealing greyed underpants as he searches for what size he has on. I did not need to see that.
GAH!!! before i became unemployed as of yesterday (dont ask it makes me sad) i had to deal with this all the time...
No the man in is skivies but people not know their sides.
Women, you all buy clothing i assume. You know that a large is not a large a world around but general a 8, 12, 14 ,16 is. So when i ask for your dress size do not say A: I don't wear dresses B: I don't Buy dresses C: I hate dresses D: Large
Because i will say, a dress is a numeral reference to clothing size present on all garments and in exception to under garments are basically universal though they can vary slightly, so if you have ever bought clothing ever, you have a general basic idea. A large can be a 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 or even a 16... so unless some else dresses you and shops for you you would have an idea.
you may hang up about the time of the first ever because thats when my snarky snotty voice comes in because by the time i get to this speech you have insisted repeatedly that there is no such thing as a dress side, and that you never heard of such a thing, nor ever seen such a thing in you clothing, when before i gentle said, its right on your tag in your clothing, its on your pants as well not just dress.
    and you waste my time

Women's clothing sizes are a joke!

I've had size 15 jeans that I couldn't pull over my hips, and I've had (bought the same year by a different manufacturer) size 11s that I could wear over another pair of jeans.

Why the hell can't we just switch to measurements and stop the insanity?

And because it would make it harder to help those buying formal dresses to feel better about their too-wide size 6 hips. </sarcasm>

Seriously, making people feel better about whatever figure they have is the only reason I can think of why my regular Sunday dresses are sized at 12/14, but my wedding dress and two black cocktail dresses are size 10, and all fit exactly the same (except for the inability to lift my arms over my head while wearing my wedding dress).

That's also why the employees at the one David's Bridal I visited in Salt Lake were made of epic fail. Because when told my regular dress size, they sent me off to peruse the size 18s. It took approximately one minute of browsing the dresses and thinking, "Man, these look like they'll be tents on me," before I decided to skip that store and hit one of the smaller bridal shops closer to my apartment. A shop where they had me check out the 12/14s, but the style I'd seen online that I liked only had a sze 10 (fresh off the mannequin in the storefront). I consider myself lucky that the one I wanted fit perfectly and needed no alterations.

the thing is you know what size you fit the most comfortable in. I know when im buying pants if its plain cotton im looking in 32s, if im buying cargo pants, 36 is as small as i can go, corduerory can be between 34-38 jeans have to be at least 36, higher if able.
You know where you look first. Thats all we needed. i always ask, what dress size you generally shop for. and gah they have no idea what they are talking about.

Well, generally speaking, if they don't know what you mean by dress size (and that's going to become more common, not less), then just ask them their pants size. I, personally, haven't worn a dress for over a decade, 'cause I just don't like skirts.

I generally prefer wearing a skirt/shirt combo instead of a full dress (and not just when I was nursing). I find it more comfortable when I get home from church to just swap my skirt for pants and still look nice, without having to completely change what I'm wearing.

The last dress I bought was about 3 years ago for a court appearance. Shopping for that was "fun." My weight has fluctuated by about 50 lbs back and forth over the past 10 years. Highest was 285-290, lowest was 200, went back up to 270ish, now down to 215...don't even have an average or "stable" anymore. What size do I wear? I have no freaking clue, and I hate shopping! I think I'm now somewhere between a Women's 20-26 depending on the manufacturer, and XL-XXL short in Men's. That's what belts are for!
Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end.

Now that I've had time to wash the shirt and am no longer itching to death, I've more.

                      6.) Fish MURDERER!

Not so much sucky as strange. I bought 9 fish yesterday to go in my huge tank. I wait the prescribed 30 min, net them out of the bag and drop them in with the others. (note, these guys were tiny...well other than the eel) Within minutes, my Kissing Gouramies were looking up at me like "OH MY GOD! HELP!" the 9 new fish were DEAD. Very dead. Fishing them out I grumble and put them on ice. Heading into town today, I get my cash back and head back to the fish Dept. The guy there is shocked, having never seen that happen before. So he gives me 4 new fish 2 koi and 2 more gouramies. As I check out, the girl who rang me up the first time asks something about the fish I bought before to which I respond they were all dead. I kid you not she looks dead at me and says hushed. "Fish Murderer!"
The best way to introduce fish to a tank is to have a clean bucket (ie: one that is only used in this manner) Gently pour the fish into the bucket. Then slowly pour in a cup of tank water. Wait 10 min. Repeat 2 or three times depending on how hardy the fish are then net them into the tank.

Although the float them in the tank then add them can work, some fish are very sensitive to changes in ph and hardness.

Ah. I knew about sensitivity to temperature changes, which is why you float the bag they're in in the tank to get the temperatures equalized, but I'd never considered that the other differences in water composition might also need equalizing. The whole adding bits of tank water bit by bit is an excellent idea.

Except when the manufacturer decides to play with the sizes.

I am a size 16. Depending on the cut/etc, I might wear a size 14. I went shopping for skirt. I ended getting a size 10. I hate liars like that. I would have accepted a 14, I would have rolled my eyes at a 12. But 10?! Puh-lease, who do they think they are kidding.

I ended up making 3 trips back onto the floor to find the skirt rack again & to find yet another size to try.

If you want to know what your true size is, take your measurements and look at the sizing for patterns....except that I've noticed that they've started playing with those a bit as well.

Women's clothing sizing all boils down to womens vanity about what size they are and clothing companies feed into it. Me, I don't really give a crap. I know it doesn't mean much. If it fits properly who cares? Plus, you don't have to tell anyone what size you're wearing!

I've heard of some women that will even buy shoes that are too small because they're embarrassed of the size they wear! (I will gladly tell anyone who asks that I wear a size 9 shoe. Usually, they don't believe me. Mainly because I'm only 5'4". But I would look funny with a size 5 foot.)

Retail Workhorse: I understand. Fun times trying to find pants in a 4 or 6 that are long enough. Apparently, people at my height can't have a 32" inside leg!
It's floating wicker propelled by fire!

I'm 5'11" with size 11 feet, one of my four younger sisters is 6' with size 12 feet, and my baby sister is 5'11" with size 13 feet. Her feet are a size larger than our dad's (and he's 6'2"). One year he dressed in drag for Halloween and borrowed middle sister's shoes.

I've determined that inexpensive stores like Wal-Mart cater to two general sizes when it comes to pants: tall and wide, and short and narrow. Which made it difficult on two of my HS friends and I, as they were both short and wide, and I was tall and narrow (still am). I ended up having to buy belts for my pants, and they ended up hemming up their pants.
