My son and I were in the mood for a snack earlier, so we decided to head over to Sheetz. For anyone who doesn't know, it's a convenience store that's also sort of a fast food place. Actually, their food is a step above fast food, but I digress...
As soon as we got in, we saw a guy at the counter arguing with the manager over a coupon for cigarettes that he wanted to use, but the manager said he could not. I didn't catch all of it, but it sounded like he had to buy something to use it, but I didn't see him with any items, so maybe he wanted to use it without buying anything else. Or maybe it was for a pack and he wanted to use it for a cartoon, because I heard bits and pieces about packs vs. cartons, I don't know...
Either way, he was getting really loud and beligerent about it, to the point where the guys working the food area were standing at attention, apparently ready to jump in and/or call the cops if the guy got physical. He didn't get to threaten to "take his business elsewhere." The manager suggested it herself.
He didn't leave, but stood there and argue some more. When he let a string of obscenties fly, the manager decided she'd had enough, and told him to "Get out. Now." After he left, the other guys started cracking jokes about how he must have been nicking really bad, and that maybe he should "go smoke some cigarettes that we won't sell him."
For some reason, he hung around in the parking lot for awhile, because we saw him leaving after we got our food and started heading out to the car. If the age laws went by mental age, he would have been way too young to smoke anyway.
