That's the only ride I refuse to get on at a carnival. I don't get sick, but I don't like walking off it dizzy. I can't believe that a mom thought that ride was fine for a baby.

DM: Well then what rides can I take him on. I paid alot of money to get in here and I want to ride something
J: Lady, I don't think there are any rides at the fair that you can take your baby on.
DM: Well I just wasted my money didn't I?!? walks away
Well, duh. You have a baby. Babies are delicate, unlike older kids, and don't take well to being shaken, stirred, spun, flung, hung upside down or all of the above. How the sam hill could she not know this?! And why would she waste money on a trip her baby isn't old enough to enjoy?! That bit of grey matter inside your skull, use it!

Next time, save your money, take him to the beach or park to play in the sand.

This is why you bring a friend so you can take turns going on rides while the other holds the baby.

Or you develop a lasting fondness for carnival games, advertising booths, and the grandstand shows.

That's a good idea, too. But I remember when I was pregnant, and going to lamaze classes, there were warnings about shaking / tossing / etc. your baby, and horror stories about shaken baby syndrome. I can't believe that mother didn't grasp that a spinning ride like that would have the same or worse effect on a baby.
