You should have done a RickRoll.
    A RickRoll?

    (Quick side trip to Google.)

Well, I seem to have learned a new word today.
"I don't have to be petty. The Universe does that for me."

Like, this is such sorry customer service. I'll bet you're not the first customer he's spoken to like that.

Words fail me. What the frack was so interesting on his damned computer that he couldn't get up for a few moments to check?
Maybe he has a few sick fettishes that he couldn't tear himself away from?

PJ: That's enough! *grabs the phone, pages the store manger to the pharmacy* You're getting banned! I don't get paid to deal with this f---ing crap. *storms out through the back door*
Considering that the median income for a pharmacist is around $85 000, I think you do get paid, and quite handsomely too, to deal with this "f***ing crap"! I feel sorry for the pharmacy techs who have to put up with this asshat on a daily basis.

          Paid for this...

I'm really hoping that the jerk was a tech. It's easy to have a bad day as a tech (not that I'm excusing THAT level of bad behavior), from a combination of no authority, no permission to give out most info, and everyone coming to you.

If he was the pharmacist, there are plenty of pharmacy jobs that aren't retail. I plan on finding one myself once I finish school. But, yeah, a pharmacist is paid enough to deal with almost anything, even retail.

It never ceases to amaze me, how many people will swear at you or otherwise insult you, and think it's ok. Then when you use the same words and voice tone back, it's suddenly outrageous, uncalled for, inexcusable, yadda yadda yadda.

There's plenty of those for us techs, too!

                I wish...

I wasn't lucky enough to get one of those. And, unfortunately, once you are an "experienced retail tech" it's hard to get non-retail to take you seriously. Much like breaking out of food-service, that gave me trouble too.

                  Radioclerk -

Where are you? Come on down to New Mexico, there's plenty of places that do TPNs and the like for nursing homes that don't have pharmacists on staff. Of course, when I get my certificate, I'll already be certified for sterile IV. As a matter of fact, CNM is the only school in the state that does this. And there's a few places here that won't hire anything but CNM graduates.

Sounds a little warm for me...

Eastern WA. I lived in California for most my life and left because of the heat. Never going back to year-round summer. Retail's no so bad... I guess. Just killing time til I can be one of the higher educated (and paid) bracket.

Only in the summer. Granted, it does get up around 100, but in the winter, it gets down in the 20's and 30's. And it appears that once every 50 years, we get 3 feet of snow in 24 hours!

Actually, it's not so much the heat that you need to worry about, it's the fires. We've got a big-ass one right now in the Manzano Mtns just south of ABQ. You can see the smoke from it. There's a reason we call it "fire season" instead of "spring and summer"!
