AFAIK, there are smoking rooms in the hotel. However, the smell of weed is rather pungent, with that sharp sickly sweet smell. It sticks to everything. I think for smoking rooms, they do the same cleanup for non-smoking rooms, as my room is smoking. When I walked it, I could smell faint traces of tobacco. So yeah, you'd be able to tell that the room had been exposed to weed.

I'm not going to stress too much about it for now. If it happens again, I'll report it to front desk again, but I'm not gonna go bang on their door or anything. Still, weed is still illegal here, and while I may have smoked a bit of it (oh, like 8 years ago), I never did it in a place where non-"smokers" would be effected.

I, myself, have never noticed that pot on it's own has much of a "sweet" smell to it. I have noticed that the nasty cigar wraps they use these days, however, does have an incredibly sweet scent to it. And when they use the flavored wraps, it makes me want to vomit.

I feel the same way with most pipe tobaccos. And actual cigars are even worse.

I'm allergic to cigarettes, but I'm even more allergic to weed. I would have called it in. I'm a live and let live kind of person, but doing that kind of thing in a hotel with an open window is asking to be busted. Stupidity like that deserves whatever it gets.

Them. At home is one thing, in public is another. I can't handle the smoke, it hurts my lungs. Even just being around someone who's been smoking it does it to me, something I hate dealing with on good snow days when the snowboarders come in for their munchies.

Years ago though, my husband and I took one of those cheap 4 day cruises that went from LA to Catalina to Ensenada and back. On the morning of the last day, docked at San Pedro but on the way to breakfast, we open the door to our cabin and the whole floor smelled of the stuff. They apparently picked up some in Ensenada and wanted to get rid of it before the dogs sniffed their luggage.

Thus giving credence to my observation that smoking weed makes you stupid and sloppy.

Um, it's illegal. And if people are so stupid and sloppy they don't have enough wherewithall to not do it where people can detect it, they get what they have coming to them.

I don't think you were sucky. You shouldn't have to endure the smell of weed while enjoying a cool breeze. I wish I could turn in cigarette smokers myself.

That would give me an asthma attack. >.>
I don't care what other people do in their own space, on their own time. I recognize their right to make their own decisions regardless of whether i agree with them or not. Conversely I see nothing wrong with requiring people to recognize my right to be able to breathe in public.
Also to note, asthma attacks are PAINFUL. Fortunately (or as I see it, unfortunately ) I have thus far resisted the urge to give pot-smokers-smoking-in-public a groin kick in retaliation for the painful asthma attack they give me.

*Note* I am not condoning violence, just saying that some people when given two options for approaching a situation will invariably come up with a third, very brutal, quite satisfying and shockingly violent option. Unfortunately conventional society frowns on such responses, and society far outnumbers me, for now anyway. >.>

                    Gross. Definitely sucky on them.
Like you mentioned about people having bad reactions to it, if I so much as smell someone smoking a joint I get crazy nauseous, and if I'm around it for too long I get violently ill.

They may have just been enjoying themselves, but there are other ways they can do that without bothering other people.

Speaking of Weed in the rooms.

I got back from my days off today to return to work to this familiar gem. (this is the very very short version)

My manager kicked some people out of two rooms this morning due to smoking weed and prostitution. Both of which are illegal in this city. Cops were called, they were escorted off the premises and Housekeeping found the doobies in the rented rooms. The rooms are currently under "NO RENT" due to the fact that getting the smell of weed out of the rooms takes freaking forever. Of course, this was after police left that housekeeping found the drugs so I don't know if they are still able to be charged or not. I get to talk to Mrs. M about it tomorrow when I return to take over her shift tomorrow.
