  • Monday morning at the Shell station

Something I have learned from today's experience is not to buy gas on a Monday morning. I stopped in on my way to work to fill up, and this Shell station literally has the lowest price for gas, which was $3.81 per gallon. When I got there, the card readers were not working, which meant I had to go into the store, give the clerk my card, go out to pump my gas, then go back in to pay. Was it this simple? Hell no! There was a crowd, in two lines, there to make purchases. I picked the shortest line, and ended up getting in back up this guy who was buying lottery tickets, and had all of these questions for the clerk on the type of plays they have. It got to where I moved to the other line, which was longer, but was also moving faster. After filling up at $58, which I hear is pretty cheap compared to the other stations out there, I went back to sign for my card, and this guy was still in there, still asking his questions! Everyone was in the other line though, being they caught on to this moron not leaving anytime soon.

Also, on Mondays, I happened to notice many landscaping companies at the gas staions, filling up gas cans for lawn equipment in addition to their own vehicles. It's a nightmare for sure.

I don't drive myself, but I do stop in at gas stations for cigarettes and on occasion to pay for a friend's gas who is too lazy to get up.
One thing I've noticed about a lot of the gas stations around here is that when someone is at the register fiddling around with lottery tickets 9/10 times they're asked to step aside.
Not step aside then line up again, mind you, but just get out of people's way and stop creating a line.

At the gas stations around here, it seems I always end up waiting at the checkouts for somebody engaging in scratchy scratchy scratchy (they don't step aside and almost never are asked to) or somebody carrying on a conversation with the clerk(s).

If I need something I could buy at the convenience store, I'll go to Walgreen's or the grocery store instead. They're not that much further away and I can get in and out quicker.

        I hate lottery hounds. Seriously.
