This brought back memories of times when cashiers would tell me individually that a new line was opening so I wouldn't get trampled by the rush of people -- that made the "new" line 2x longer than the "old" lines lol
That and having a cashier telling me "I'm opening, you're next, come over" and having two things happen. Once another person ran over (overhearing a conversation does not mean you're next), she took care of them (only an item or two) but then apologized to me for it. The other time the cashier took my items while I was in another line, scanned them and made the person who just showed up wait
boy were they upset -- my entire transaction was done from the wrong side of the register.
