    for the future:
in this case a small white lie is necessary and allowed.
you simply say "Ladies I am actually headed to my Grandmother's house . . . she has some really serious health issues and well I work full time and take care of her the rest of the time. Sadly I am burning the candle at both ends . . .but Grandma did so much for the family how could I trust anyone else to give her the care she deserves?"
Then smile sweetly and see what they have to say to that.

Wait till you get accused of being a drug addict by a doctor that's supposed to be helping you.
My wife has some major health issues that took a long time to get diagnosed so we had to go to all kinds of different specialists.
Several of them told her, right to her face, that they wouldn't help her because all she wanted were pain meds. They didn't help addicts get drugs so go some where else.
She finally got to the right specialist that told her she had fibromyalgia and that she needed to have regular doses of pain meds to make her days normal.
So they must have mentioned Munchausen's to you and suggested a psychologist. Good thing someone caught the fibromyalgia, or else they'd be in for a world of hurt (Mal-practice suits, anyone?).
Now a member of that alien race called Management.

Yeah, you see that right. Pink. Harness.

Please tell me that after she got the diagnoses that she called every doctor's office and told them about it.

I would have, and then I would have shown up at their offices to complain again.

But then I'm an asshole when someone screws me over.

it seems a doctor determined that since she had "too many piercings" she was surely "a drug addict and has aids". They left her unatended in a hallway for that reason.
What in the hell kind of logic is that? Piercings = drug addict = AIDS? Huh?
That makes as much sense as: typewriter = iPod = Cap'n Crunch.

And so what if she did have AIDS? Since when are doctors allowed to turn anyone away based on illness?

May I never encounter that doctor in my life, for surely he is not worthy of the position he holds.
