  • am i sucky

yes i have to ask like everyone else.
    Ok here is the story.
December 10th- Me and my dad go down to our mobile phone company store to buy my brother a Christmas gift. My brothers cell had been dropped in a pool 3 monthes prior and was slowly dying. His line wasn't a available for upgrade, but my sisters was and mine was available for a partial. We did research, found a phone he would love, the the perfect colors (the samasung beat, black with a green dial for music) now my phone is over 2 years old. i was only available for a partial because it was used ot update my dads phone a little over year ago, after his was stolen. Since my brother is clumsy with phones we decide to buy him insurance on his phone.
Now here are somethings im not so sure about. I think we used my sisters number, but we may have used mine and it was the other way around. But i do know when we got the insurence we made sure to remind, reiterate, and triple confirm with the sales rep, the insurance was being ablied to the Beat, which was going to be activated under a different number, and not mine. Because i was still going to use my old phone for awhile.

Late February- Early March- my dad does his passive aggressive thing, and goes to the store, and adds a line on his account for my mom, and gets the phone i want. He switches mine and my mothers phones, so i get the phone i want, and mom will get the phone i had. My mom gets pissed, cries, and i make dad cancel the line and i pay the cost for a partial upgrade.now i have a new phone.
I dont want insurance. I dont have the same problems my brother has, and will most like keep my phone until its ready to die.

Now those reading have probably guessed what happened
Today- My father gets a letter for the insurance company for saying that the insurance applied to MY PHONE, on MY LINE, is being reorganized, and listing the changes.
Remember what i said about not wanting insurance?
my dad calls and finds out that some how, the sales reps is an idiot and applied it to the wrong line, and it got on my phone when i upgraded.
he promptly cancels the insurance, because since my brothers phone is so old they cant put it on the right line.
they also tell my father they cant do anything about what happened.

Now i want my father to call up and tell to either refund the money paid for the insurance, or we are going to find a course of action to hurt them, because they not only put insurance on the wrong phone line, but on a over two year old phone. Which hurts them. And they never informed us of it being on my phone when we got it, and it was their fault it got messed up in the first place. Now its only 35 dollars, but for the last couple months our belts have been getting tighter and tighter so that hurts.

is it sucky for me to expect them for fix their mistack?
oh and before you ask on the bill it just says insurance and no mention of what phone line it was on.

They messed up and they need to fix it. Keep putting pressure on them to fix it.

from the other side yes they should refund it-however the reason they may be reluctant to do so is the monthly bill would list all features on every line, and you should ALWAYS check your bill after any change(no matter how insignificant), they made a mistake and had you checked it could have been fixed right away, but you let it go for 7 months. The first month was their mistake, the remaining 6 were not, And legally they can only go back six months.
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

BlaqueKatt I would agree with you if the bill said which phone the insurance is for. But it didn't.
oh and before you ask on the bill it just says insurance and no mention of what phone line it was on.
Since the bill didn't say which phone/line the insurance is for, it's their fault.

I've been with a couple different carriers, and usually on the front page, it'll just say Insurance, but then on the other pages where it breaks down each line, and how many minutes/texts/all that other crap was used, it'll say Insurance on the line it's on...

It's possible it was an overlook, and they could go back 6 months, but that's the best they can do, then that's the best they can do...

yeah but even if they only go back 6 monthes, i would have to point out if anything had happened during that first month, we where paying for something we couldnt use because they applied it to an almost 3 year, but defently more than two year old phone.
so i should be able to get all 6 because, month 1 was applied to something they couldnt apply it and month 2-7 they can refund.
