I've seen a few places with regular at $4.39. We've got several refineries here. Explain that.

Well it just went down again today. Today $3.63. I'm wondering what it will be when I go into work tomorrow. Because it's been 3.65 for over a week and the last time that happened (last week at 3.75) and it went down like down during the daytime (while I'm at work. when I went in it was still 3.65) it ended up going from 3.75 to 3.65 in 2 days.

I have a gas pipeline running within 50 ft of my house -- and last I knew we were over $4/gal (and the refinery is visible from my window -- ethanol [E85], unleaded, disel, biodisel and all that good stuff too). And we only have Unleaded gas available at our pumps.
I'm just glad I only drive like 750miles/yr on average.

Probably like El Paso. Bunch of refineries down there, too (man, the fumes from the cracking stink), but none of that is going to El Paso. It's going....elsewhere.Quoth wagegoth View PostI've seen a few places with regular at $4.39. We've got several refineries here. Explain that. It's floating wicker propelled by fire!

They say that our fuel is pumped into tankers, and sent away. Yes.... they leave our town, drive 6 miles and drop off gas... then they drive up to a hundred miles away and drop off more gas all along the way -- then they give our town gas on the way back to fill up (apparently so they don't "run out" when they're a distance away).Quoth Pagan View PostProbably like El Paso. Our "benchmark" Shell station (the one we pass every time we go to the highway, and use to gauge the other stations' prices) is currently at $4.05/gal, with $3.87 if you pay in cash. Now usually that station is the most expensive in town, but last time we filled up at the Hess a few streets away ($.05-$.20 cheaper on average), it was $4.19/gal. I haven't seen lately if it's dropped in price yet, thanks to a big gas tank and not much time spent driving."Enough expository banter. It's time we fight like men. And ladies. Around here, it's roughly $3.77/gallon, but in...Ohio? Indiana? I don't remember...it was dark out... there were decent places with prices in the $3.50s. And it's sad that I think that's a good price.Unseen but seeing
