Amen to that! One of the coffee shops I managed, I did that exact thing. Only problem was the SC got violent. He smacked the customer, and took a swing at me before this enraged granny comes flying out of nowhere and maced the guy and started beating on him with her cane.

Cops show up, I inform them what happened. they laughed so hard and congratulated the granny. They actually took a picture of her standing with one foot on the SC's head in a pose that resembled what mountain climbers pose when they climb Everest.

Funny thing about Canadian laws though is that for some stupid reason, the system protects the criminals. Granny actually got charged with assault with a weapon, but in court, the Judge just gave a conditional sentence which meant no jail time, fines, probation etc. The SC had to serve 3 years for assault, attempted assault, causing a disturbance, and uttering threats.

Granny and the "Customer / employee" got coffee on the house from then on.

Oh, and GeekGodess, I don't think you did anything wrong. As a customer you are not obligated to share any information. Your time is your time. People can't accept that fact, well then they are no better than the SC who gave you a hard time. Excellent pwnage. Had it been me, there wouldn't have been a post here about it as it would violate the rules about violence, etc.

I notice you didn't actually *tell* the guy you don't work there. In fact, you pretty much went out of your way to give the impression that you did. I'd give you props if you'd said "I don't work here" and he continued to be a prick, but really, you set him up for that.

Except he started out being a prick by demanding that the "employee" stop cleaning up a mess (which probably is part of a real Starbucks' employee's job), so I have no problem at all with the OP setting him up for a double order of pwnage.

Now, if the asshat in the story had just been mildly sucky, or had just politely asked the OP to stop cleaning and help him, then I'd call suck on the OP. But this guy came out with guns blazing and deserved every BIT of suck and pwnage he received by the OP.

With regard to the cat, you could ask a professional breeder to borrow his "teaser tom". This is a fixed tom who is kept specifically to deal with cats who are in heat but who are not yet ready to breed. A cat's first heat is generally not a good time to start the first litter, so nearly all good breeders will have a "teaser". The trick is to let them mate, which triggers ovulation and ends the heat early.

Of course, any other healthy fixed tom will do the trick, but a breeder is perhaps the most likely to have one to hand.

Anyone know how to get a cat out of heat? If I take her to the vet now they charge an extra $30 to get her fixed.

If you want her fixed, pay the extra $30.00. When we got our cat, we were waiting for her to be in a non-heat condition to be fixed. Unfortunately, the vet told us a cat only has two conditions, in heat and pregnant. The peace and quiet will be well worth the $30.00.
