  • Another drive-up ATM sighting!

This really didn't affect me, but I was able to witness this on Saturday. We stopped off at the local Wamu to deposit some moola in the drive through. The drive-up ATM had six cars waiting in it, and while we sat in one of the teller lanes, the line for the ATM did not move once. I deposited my check, waited, got my receipt and ID back, and still this line did not move. Right as I was about to leave, the five cars behind the lead one all pulled away angrily, blowing their horns at the driver. I could see this woman was yapping on her cell phone, looking angry about something (like maybe not having any money in her account?). Usually, the drive up ATM moves faster than the tellers do, but not in this case.

This is pretty much why I usually will go in the bank, or use the drive through tellers. Any more, many people who use the drive up have problems, such as not knowing what they are doing, or not having the funds they are trying to withdraw.

You might think I'm nuts for speculating this, but here goes anyway:

I think she was so oblivious as to what was going on that she didn't realize nor care that she had a bunch of cars piled up behind her.

I'm not flaming people who drive and chat, I'm just saying that there ARE people on the road who sit at freshly green lights yapping away, or putting on makeup, or fumbling with CDs, or texting, or yelling at their passengers.....I mean it's unreal the amount of distracting things that people do in their cars.

This happened to me a few years ago, when I was 17, and mind you, this happened on a road right out of town.

I was toodling around, avoiding road construction, and just sitting there in almost the middle of the road was this car. Sitting there. Idling. On a double yellow lined road, no less. One of those thinner country roads. This IDIOT woman was sitting in her car fixing her makeup and hair. She didn't even pull over to do it!

I honked at her furiously and she turned around, flipped me off, slammed the gas and tore off. That's when I realized that some people just are that neurotic, self absorbed, and oblivious.

Why not? Such people deserve to be flamed.
And I'll shut up now before I cross further into fratching turf.

If you know you shouldn't say it here, then why did you?

I try and avoid ATMs even when Im not driving if theres any kind of line at it

you never know how tech savy the person in front of you is, or how long they are going to be

I wouldnt ever like to be "stuck" between cars at the drive through ATM
