and every so often it's fun to add a little into the mix. Blast some Mandy Patinkin singing in Yiddish at them. (hey it worked on one of the old neighbors... kid wouldn't stop playing his crappy guitar and had already exceeded the one-hour-per-day rule at the complex)

Of course sometimes it's not because they want to show how (un)cool they are. One guy was trying to show off how many car-alarms he could trigger with his loud music. Until the mall police ordered him to turn it down.

omg you're in for a super surprise. He was singing long before he was acting. I recommend checking out Evilta - the 1978 American Premier recording. He had the part of Che at just 26 years old (and that's the second-billed role in Evita).

and back on topic. my roommates use to do the same thing in their dorm rooms. they'd turn the music up LOUD and go outside to listen to it. I would sit about an arm's length away from my computer speakers ad medium volume and couldn't hear a freakin thing. Cops came by once for an unrelated matter, and ended up knocking on our door because of the volume. I was glad to get out of that room.

Really? All I know of him is Princess Bride and Criminal Minds. I must hear this singing! *goes off to google*
He does Sancho in the Placido Domingo version of Man of La Mancha. Listening to his voice on that one, there is no way you could picture him saying "Allo! My name is Inigo Montolla. You killed my father. Prepare to die!"

I've shocked some friends of mine too with the revelation that Mandy Patinkin sings. They only knew his movie/television appearances too. Frankly, I was shocked to learn that Mandy Patinkin acts.

MMMMM I love making these guys mad.....welll I guess it's because I match them with my non-woofed stock speakers, and play stuff....welll let me do a list of what I've countered their (c)rap with...

Dragonforce (that one was epic since i went through three songs...most clocking in at about 7 minutes)
Greenday (one song, King for a Day)
and using the power of my Stephcast subscription, the Oct 7th 2008 first hour of the Stephanie Miller show.

but to keep from suking, once I went past/left the place always put it back to a reasonable level...well except the last one, it's rather quiet, except their sound effects.

oh and as for what I like to call Raisers (pronounced like ricer, but going with the racing aspect as well) around here, seem to get them cheesed off when I'm making an about an inch gap between my index finger and thumb....yeah....you're driving a tricked out honda civic...we all know what that means *does the action mentioned above)

The theatrical soundtrack for Evil Dead The Musical is great. Particularly "What the Fuck was that?"

I share with you, my lovely ones.
