    paranoid much?

    Ok, this is one of my friends... we were at Carl's Jr. (I gave him a ride to the car dealership, so he bought me dinner)... anyway, on the way into the parking lot he did an illegal u-turn... we spent maybe half an hour in the restaurant... as we are getting ready to walk out a cop walks into the restaurant and my friends first response was "oh shit, do you think he's here because I did that illegal u-turn"

    seriously, he thought he was going to get in trouble for an illegal u-turn that most likely no one even saw, much less cared enough about to call in...

      not that I'm aware of... but this guy was convinced that sense there was a cop walking in that it must be because someone called it in... never occurred to him that "hey, maybe the cop likes the food at carl's jr. too"

            Cops definitely do go after illegal U-turns, but its an on-view sort of thing. If the cop in question doesn't see you do the illegal U-turn, then you're safe. Also, its a low priority thing, just a fine, so if they're on a more important task they'll let it slide.

            Always good to obey the traffic laws though. Cops can be sneaky when they want to. Just the other day there was a motocycle cop hiding out near a store I was shopping at. I chatted with him briefly, but then he saw an illegal U-turn up ahead on the street and took off after that person.
