  • Quantum of suck

so today i go to see Quatum of solace and despite the lack of a real bond girl or gadgets i like, but them i like to watch people beat the crap out of each other.
Right in the beginning my before the movie really started my brother shifted in his seat and put is foot on a chair in front of him.
Now no one was sitting there but some one was sitting right next to the seat in question.
Now i was all ready to chew my dad out about this because i think its rude even if some one isnt seating in the seat.
but the guy sitting in the seat next to the seat did something that earned him a spot on my torture and burn list.
Now instead of asking my dad to move his foot, telling him to move his foot, or even changing seats he desides to move back to the row directly behind us, puts his foot on the seat between me and my dad (it was an almost empty theature cause it was 9:50 am and i dont like sitting next to people) and starts shacking and kicking it.
So instead of facing my dad he decides to be an a--hole to my dad and who could possible be an innocent bystander.
as soon as the opening action sequence finishes and the open credits begin my father turns around and gets in to a screaming match with a guy telling him simply all he had to so was say something and he would have realized his mistake, and they continue to argue with each other until the guy gets up and moves to yet another row.
Now i know my dad was rude, and he knows because right before the guy sat down i kick his leg and glared at him.
But that guy was an asshole and a moron.

personally i would have said... dont' talk to the guy just get an usher.

sure the usher might not like your relative putting his foot up on the chair... but it was the greater offense to start kicking someone on purpose.

But the real victim here is.... everyone else in the theatre who paid to see a movie. At that point I don't care who started it, neither man handled it maturely and proceeded to yell while the rest of the people there were watching the movie. It might have been "almost empty" but it sounds like there were still others there and they deserve to get what they paid for just like you and your dad did.

I'm surprised they were kicked out.

I like to prop my feet up, but if the place is full then I just pick a spot in the front row and slink down as low as I can, that way I'm comfy and still have my knees somewhat elevated.

Reason why I do this is all the years watching TV while in a recliner, I can't sit "normal" for more than 30 minutes anymore, which is why I tend to prop my feet on my Dad's chair across the table, as well (he does the same to me, so I think I learned it from him).
Now a member of that alien race called Management.

Yeah, you see that right. Pink. Harness.

No Ushers. Not enough people on duty that early, there are two people at the box office, two at concessions 9one doing prep) one ticket collecter and one manager and then two or three people are coming on duty when we where leaving. So few i know most of them by name..... yes love movies.

I always put my feet up on the chair in front of me at movie theatres because I can't sit for very long. I shift a lot and need to stretch my legs out otherwise they start to hurt.
If there's ever someone in the seat next to the one in front of me I usually ask if they mind. If they say yes, I move, if they say no, I put my feet up.
Resting your feet, whether you view it as rude or not, is common practice at the movies and so long as you're courteous with it we can all lounge in harmony.

They renovated the theathers at two malls near me with stadium seating. What I found out was the very last row has double the leg room, so you can stretch your legs out and still not touch the seats in front of you. This also means no needing to get up if someone wants to get by.
