  • Sighting on the road yesterday

Not sure if he's an SC, but should feel like one.

We picked up my neice (I carpool with my mom) and were on our way to my house. We leave my sister's workplace and pull up to the freeway. The light goes green and we proceed to take a left through the intersection, when I noticed the Yukon in the right turn lane ahead of us.

The guy had just come out of the gas station on the corner.... wait for it... and still had the gas nozzle in is gas tank. The nozzle had the hose and all the fittings attached. The dude gassed up his SUV and drove off, pulling everything off the pump.

Right as I told my mom to check it out, he realized it and pulled off to the side to take it out.

I can only imagine how stupid he felt.

I wonder how much he had to pay in damages...

I think that the hoses are designed to break-away from the pump body in roder to minimise damage - this kind of brainfart is pretty common. I don't know the details of how they go together, but it's possible that they just have to plug the hose back in and check that it still seals.

about the pumps: My sis worked at a gas station and had this happen: they legally have to call their insurance company to send an inspector out to make sure the pump is not damaged, then pay a certified tech to reattach and make sure it connects correctly.
Crono: sounds like the machine update became a clusterf*ck..
pedersen: No. A clusterf*ck involves at least one pleasurable thing (the orgasm at the end).

Look at what this lady did with a pump: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJbf2...eature=related
        I see dumb people...

"I think I died long ago, and you two are my eternal punishment"
        "..."
"You're like a constant downer, huh?"

Wow. I've worked at several gas stations and never had to do that. We just called Badger Oil (I think)(at the 'Lounge), or J, our pump fixer guy (at the Q). At my first two stations, the owner fixed it, if it ever happened.
          I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.
