Ugh - it seems my card ONLY gets blocked when I tell them of my travel plans. I've flown to Chile without telling brother bank, and put two entire roasted lambs and drinks for the whole crew on that card - no problem! But I tell them I'm on travel and BOOM, its blocked. Never again!

You know...that makes me glad I didn't call and inform my bank before my trip. I kept telling my husband we should, but he said it wouldn't matter.

Get this - the card had not been used in over 6 MONTHS (not a single charge). So then we all of a sudden drive the length of California paying for all our gas and food and hotels with it. Not ONCE was it declined. I almost wish it had, I mean that pattern should be a little suspicious, right?

To give my bank credit, a year or so ago they did question when we sent some larger than usual e-checks (like $10K instead of $2K).
