Confused phone call

A friend of mine lives and works at a stately home.

Me and some friends are there this afternoon playing a RPG at his flat when the phone goes. It is the work phone. We only hear one side of the conversation, but it goes something like this.

"We open on the 1st of May."
"The tea rooms open on Sundays and bank holidays."
"No, the tea rooms are not open next weekend."
"No, Sundays and bank holidays after the 1st of May."
"I am sorry you find it confusing."

A potential visitor couldn't quite grasp that they weren't open yet. Or as I put it, "The weather is sunny, you must be open."

Honestly, are their tea rooms that good that you'd want to go there when the house isn't open anyway? What a maroon.
