Some years ago I witnessed this in a cafe:

SC: Can you give me some free food?
CSR: No.
SC: Why not?
CSR: It's against the rules.
SC: Let me tell you about rules... they're made to be broken.
CSR: Sounds like "Rules are made to be broken" is a rule, and I'll break it by not breaking the other rules.
SC: *head explode*

Of course I'm paraphrasing and shortening the whole thing because it was some years ago.
