  • I will be a SC tomorrow so I'm sighting myself

My blackberry is through Verizon. I got it January 20th. So far I've had to replace the tracker ball twice and have had to replace phone once through no fault of my own. Well the tracker ball is bad again, I can't go online even though I pay extra $30 a month for the usage, half the time when people call my phone doesnt let me know until after the call, and even though phone isn't 5 months old the battery needs to be charged at least once a day. So to whomever at Verizon I deal with I apologize.

    To avoid becoming an SC......

    Be Polite
    Dont raise your voice
    Dont swear
    Dont make unrealistic demands
Have all your relevent paperwork, model numbers, etc handy.

And you will most like get everything sorted. Just be the kind of customer *You* would like to deal with

    Hope it all goes well

    Keep us posted

Remember, you can be insistant AND polite at the same time. Don't be afraid to ask, politely, for an escalation if the person you are working with isn't authorized to do what needs to be done to make you whole.

Ask them for another model. If you've had this many problems in such a short time, you should see if they'll give you a newer or different model for free or a tiny charge for the difference.

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with your phone. The issue of the phone not letting you know you're being called until AFTER sounds familiar though.

I have the LG Venus and at random, intermitten times, all I get is the obnoxious bleep leeting me know I've missed a call. When I take it into a store for tech, they download more software into it, set their personal phone right next to me (in front of me) and call my phone. Then it proceeds to ring and they tell me, each and every time, that I don't have a problem, I just must have not heard the ring tone. Pff.

Good luck, let me know how it goes since I'll have to follow in your footsteps very soon.

It always seems to be the phones with the most gadgets that break the quickest. i have a coworker who has the Blackberry Storm, i think. Whichever is the touch screen one and he's already having problems with it after less than 3 weeks.

My mom's Blackberry (through ATT) will do the same thing. And no, it's not on silent mode...it will happen, then an hour later or whenever another call comes in it rings normally. This doesn't happen particularly often though, nor is there any kind of pattern to it that we can pin down.

My company has Nextel, and their phones used to do this all the time. With an added bonus that when they would call the company line with them, we would be unable to hear them half the time and they'd have to hang up and call back.

actually all they'll offer is a refurb of a discontinued model-in order to get a new phone from verizon outside of the worry free guarantee (remember I worked their customer service escalations for 2 years) you need to have 2 or more replacements of a defective phone within 6 months-it's known as "FRU to new" and it is at the discretion of the tech.
