    I'm curious now.

The other day I heard someone knocking and knocking. I opened my door and saw no one and went back to the computer, figuring it was for one of the apartments below.

    It was.

The man knocking came up to knock on my door and ask me about the people living below me.

Him: Does Neighbor (i forgot the name) live below you?
Me: I don't know who lives there.
Him: Is anyone there at all?
Me: I dunno. I saw a cat in the window a while ago but that was in the range of a couple of months. I don't know if anyone's there now.

He had a small stack of papers in his hands.

I'm just wondering now if perhaps he was some collector or repo-man. I didn't ask. And if he is, legally he can't tell me - not in that situation.

    Just curious.

    could also be serving someone.
Interviewer: What is your greatest weakness?
Me: I expect competence from my coworkers.

      oo good point.
the guy was knocking on all the doors here. people across from me weren't home.

and now i think the people below me arent' there....

The apartment handed out fliers stating that they were going to paint the entrance ways yesterday and today (which they never actually seem to do...) but when I went out earlier this evening the people below me still had a flier on their door.

i've seen similar stuff before - at my old place. next door neighbors must have skipped out on the rent. the apartment served them a courts summons by taping it to my door by mistake. freaked me out until i realized it wasn't mine. (especially since i'd already paid for 3 months in advance since i was headed for a 3 month deployment)

but that might be what happened downstairs. or something similar. hmmm i'll check the online papers to see if there's any legal notices
