    A typical conversation with a French "English speaking hotline."

    EDF: Bonjour.
    Me: Good morning.
    EDF: Oui?
    Me: I'm calling for friend of mine, she has no electricity right now.
    EDF: Uhh, I don't speak English.
    Me: I called the English speaking line, didn't I?
    EDF: Ehhh... French, French.
    Me: WTF....?

    It really did not surprise me. It couldn't have gone any other way.

    That's really sad... And definitely "false advertising", if such a thing can apply to a hotline...
    And, even sadder, I'm not surprised in the least...

    Yes, we're a tad bit ethnocentrical... I'm really, really sorry it happened to you.

    For the Invisible Pink Unicorn's sake, please staff your positions with people who have the required skills, damnit! And if the required skill is "being proficient in English", no, being able to play Resident Evil in English doesn't mean they qualify.

      I bet that person has one of the best turnover rates in that call pool.

      I also bet that no one is randomly monitoring that call pool, because, well, nobody speaks English.
