I haven't been on here much lately - I'm back in school full time, so I'm not working this semester at all, not even freelance. Still, I saw this earlier today and it really bothered me.
I was waiting in the checkout line at the grocery store when what appeared to be a large brown dog hurtled past me. Suddenly, it turned around and I realized it was a kid, running around on all fours on the floor. Not a toddler, no... this boy had to have been at least 8. He started barking and pretend-biting in the direction of the cashier.
Suddenly, he turned and pretended to paw at the little gate leading back behind the counter, still barking. All of the cigarettes, razors, etc. are behind that counter, so the girl working back there was asking him to please stop and trying to hold the gate shut so that he couldn't get in. He made a mess doing it as he knocked over a bunch of baskets piled up next to it and some items off of a restock shelf. Eventually his mother came over with her shopping basket... and praised him for what a 'realistic bark' he was making, and fawned over how cute he was to the cashier.
Uh... your kid is not a little angel, what gives here?
Does anyone actually parent anymore?
