Wow, this is the first time I've had a sighting against a customer service employee in... umm... wow... long time (though I will also have one from one of my roommates to post soon about a wal-mart employee, but that's different).
So today my boyfriend and I stopped at a Subway on our way back from Target and... well, I think a copy and paste of the letter I sent to corporate best describes what happened
being letter to corporate-
I went in on Sunday 9/6 just before noon, when I walked in there was only one employee in the store and she was sitting in the back office talking on the phone. I could not hear what she was saying, but as it is that she had what appeared to be a personal credit card out I highly doubt it was business related, not that it matters one way or the other. It took a good four or five minutes for her to notice us waiting (I will give her some credit that I was not making too much noise on the off chance that it was a business call), but then after noticing us waiting she still made no effort to wrap up the call or at least give us some indication that she will be helping us other than nodding once in our direction. It was another 4 or 5 minutes before one of the other customers in the store commented that she too had to wait a really long time to get served before we decided to give up and go elsewhere.
I have never had this problem before at Subway and hope that this isn't an indication of the level of service that I can expect in the future.
-end letter to corporate
I'm sorry, that type of stuff just gets me dander up quicker than nearly anything else. I can understand mistakes, I can understand someone having an off day, but that is just a plain lack of caring all together, especially since the employee was just sitting there calmly talking on the phone which makes me seriously doubt that it was some sort of family emergency. I know if I were to pull a stunt like that and my boss saw, he would fire me on the spot and for good reason. When I can go next door to Carl's Jr (which isn't known for being the fastest restaurant on the planet) and have food delivered to my table in less time than it took for that employee to even recognize my existence (and I'd like to point out, no I didn't go out of my way to draw attention to myself, but my boyfriend and I did continue our conversation while waiting at the counter which, while not loud, was loud enough to be heard where the employee was), I'd say that there is a major problem with that employee.

Curiosity has taken me in its ragged leathery claw and will not let go...
