So, apparently, at school, outside of a couple of Massive (500+ people) Chem and Calc lectures, there were people posing as TAs for said lectures. They were telling people that they needed to buy this expensive software as soon as possible, and that since it was short notice, the bookstore didn't have it, and they could only order it from an Ebay site, which was given to the students. Now experienced college people would probably know something was up, but this was outside, I believe, Calc 1 and Gen Chem, which are populated by mostly freshmen, who, this being the first week of school, would not know any better.

I bet at least a few people fell for that. Hopefully they can track the scammers through Ebay?
