and another way to treat it, if i'm not mistaken ... is to have a shaved head.

Actually you can get *body* lice from a cat. If the cat has mange, it could be animal only, or it can be transferred to people. Personal experience...Quoth Andara Bledin View PostYou'd think the person they sent to inspect for a lice infestation would be informed enough to know that you can't get lice from a cat.

I once had a killer case of lice, where you could actually glimpse them scuttling on my head they'd all grown so huge. Yeah. Definitely don't look like dandruff, more like huge spikey butted bugs. Biggest one I ever pulled out was the length of my thumbnail... holy crap it was frightening. Engorged with my own blood, too. Bastard.

Humans can also get fleas. Ended up having the little b@@@ards back in high school by catching them from the family pets. Parents didn’t bother to by de-fleaer (advantage, frontline, anything) and they spread them to both me and my oldest brother. Something about our blood they really liked. Fun times explaining to Dad that I didn’t want to be re-infected with a parasite again. Only thing that I could find to use to kill them was flea powder for cats and dogs. I’m glad I don’t live with my parents anymore.

Taking the plane out of service means the lice win.Quoth CarcinogenCrunchies View PostWow. I've heard plenty of stories about ludicrous flight regulations, but taking an entire plane out of service due to head lice is a new one for me. Were the lice carrying bombs, or more than the allowable quantity of shampoo?"All I've ever learned from love was how to shoot somebody who out-drew ya"
