The Kentucko Bell (KFC and Taco Bell are in the same building, same counter, same employees, etc.) around where I live is actually very quick. And the people who work there are pretty cool, too.

Too bad I don't eat more fast food, or I might go there more often. It kinda sucks that you had that long of a wait, though.

Every KFC I've been too in the last 9 years or so (in several different cities) had horrible service.

Back when I worked at the 'Lounge, the one up the road from there was the worst. And that's saying something.

You could NOT go there any time, day or night, and hope to get out in less then half an hour...and that's with a small to go order. Like an order of mashed potatoes and a chicken tender sandwich. There could be 2 other customers in the store and no one in the DT, and it would still take forever.

All the other ones I've been to haven't been much better.
              I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

Before they started to combine those places, the place I live already had a standalone KFC, Pizza Hut, and A&W, and Long John Silvers. The first Taco Bell we had was an express built into a gas station. Now they have remodeled the Long John Silvers and it has a Taco Bell in it.

We are not fortunate enough to have a Popeyes or Papa Johns.

We have Taco Johns (much better than Taco Bell), Runza, and Valentinos. We even recently got a Godfathers pizza in. Heck the only place we have 2 of in this town is Taco Johns - actually we have 3. (Damn, I actually forgot, we also got a second Runza).

But to get to the KFC service - it is actually pretty decent here. Not too long of a wait even when it is busy.

Before that Captain Choleserol line I had completely forgotten about that cartoon series. Damn it, now I want to find some for my little daughter to watch.

The KFC's around here are allright. They aren't McDonalds fast, But its perfectly acceptable wait time. Plus I love their Mashed potatoe bowls.

I'm still mitigated about KFC. I haven't gone there much, but half of the few times I went, they messed up my order. Wrong drink, or wrong sandwich... And I find it rather costly compared to McD's. But they're about as fast, especially if you use those fast order screens thingies.

Yeah, I've noticed that most of the KFC's in my area have slow service, which is why I generally only go there if I'm not in a hurry, or picking up for the folks.

I have my own various nicknames for combination franchises like that...

KFC + Taco Bell = Cluckin' Bell
KFC + Pizza Hut = Chicken Hut
Taco Bell + Pizza Hut = Taco Hut

There was a stretch near my high school that had a Mickey D's, a Pizza Hut, and a Taco Bell, so one of our teachers just called the whole mess "McTaco Hut."

If I ever want to pick and choose between fast food places, I go to this place I call Fast Food Paradise, near Rte 50 and 28 in Fairfax County. McD's, BK, Arby's, Wendy's, and a Hooters as well.

Got one road like that near where I live, all within a 1/4 mile stretch. McDonalds, Arby's, Wendys, Taco Bell, Burger King, and KFC. You could walk from place to place, picking up an order at each one, and be done in less than 1 hour easy.

On Long Island, William Floyd Parkway in Shirley has within a span of a 1/4 mile: Roy Rogers (the only one on LI), Boston Market, KFC, Taco Bell/Pizza Hut, Checkers, Wendy's, Nathan's/Baskin Robbins/Dunkin Donuts, Applebee's and several pizza and Chinese restaurants. And there's a Burger King, McDonalds, Subway and Quizno's on Montauk Highway, which intersects William Floyd right in the middle of that mess. Damn.
