Back in my McManager days, our Area Manager encouraged us to 'waste' food if someone was cash strapped. Our only rules were that WE would do the wasting, not the employees, and DON'T eat on front counter or in the grill. That's a food safety issue.

I guess that kid really got in some deep trouble, but it would have been nice for the woman to at least pay for the meal she had the employees make. This place is so fast that by the time you get to the window to pay, the next thing they do is hand you your food. So they wasted food thanks to that lady.

We used to get to eat unclaimed pizzas...

I'll play the optimist in this one. Yes, it sucks that food was wasted because she took off in such a hurry, but at least she was disciplining her kid by depriving him/her of a fast food treat (or so we must assume by her actions).

I say kudos to Rine, though, for politely informing the employees what happened. I imagine that made the drive-off a little easier to deal with. After reading these forums and after my own food service experience, I'm sure some people would curse out the staff at the window for their "incompetence."
