Annoying and kind of sucky

I went into the only mobile gas station in my little town to get a money order and I was behind a guy who was going to play on one of the slot machines inside of it. He was done and left to play the machine. I told the cashier that I needed a money order.

The phone rings, of course she answers because she is the only one in the store. Soon there is like four people behind me and she's still yacking on the phone ignoring anything else, I wasn't annoyed until I heard what she was saying. She was talking about her kids to a friend!

"Get off the phone, you have customers!!!" Snarled a guy that I realized was the OWNER working at the little fast food place that is like right next to the register area. You know when places have like subway or froots inside of them.

She got off the phone and the first guy that was before me who I thought was done because she was printing my money orders started yelling at her from across the room and she started to help him again. I think the owner should have helped her. She was overwhelmed BUT at the same time sucky for taking a personal call for like five mins. I would never sit there and turn my back on the customers while chit chatting about kids....

And there was an annoying lady behind a guy who was behind me asking if he was with me. We weren't even close to each other or talking. She was almost begging him to let her cut and he said no LOL.

But all in all, that's how it goes.

Gas stations have slot machines? I always knew they sold all the state lottery games, but slot machines? That's pretty cool.

Yeah, I'd say she was sucky. I could understand taking a phone break on a slow day OR if it's an emergency, but from the sounds of things, it was just small talk.

I used to get yelled at by customers a lot at the gas station because I was the only one working and dared answer the phone when it rang. It wasn't even personal calls, during the day it was always morons who were looking for the owner or fuel service next door, or someone trying to find the cheapest gas in town, and it would annoy me to no end that they wouldn't give up and it made my customer service suffer.

Yeah, even our town supermarket (which is small, over priced, and sucks) has slot machines. The damn things are everywhere. I just forgot how weird it is for them to be in places like that. I was shocked the first time I saw it too.

I wasn't angry with her for answering the phone, it was who she was talking to. I didn't say a word the entire time because I know how hard it is to be by yourself but it was a personal call and she got caught by the owner. Which I still think he should have gotten his lazy ass over there and helped her. Or even make sure to have atleast two employees at all times.

The Vegas area has slot machines everywhere.

Except maybe daycares. Maybe...

As for the other guy not helping, he likely doesn't work for the same company, they just share a building.
