Rogers and Hollands and Kessler's are my two favorite places to go.

I'm young (and look younger), generally broke, and love my blue jeans.

But whenever I go to either of these stores, the sales people are always all over me the second I walk in the door, and super friendly.
    I'm bringing disdain back...with a vengeance.

Oh, and your tool box called...you got out again.

First thing that came to my mind while reading this thread was the end of this scene from the movie Pretty Woman, where nobody in the snooty clothing stores wants to wait on the erstwhile-prostitute because she goes in dressed in, shall we say, her usual working clothes. The rich guy takes her back to one of the stores, flashes his American Impress card, and announces that he's about to spend an obscene amount of money there and would like to see some major sucking-up. (That's almost verbatim, by the way.) Everyone fawns on them, even the store manager gives her his own tie from off his neck. They walk out with armloads of bags, with her dressed in some of the new duds. She then goes back to the first place that threw her out, where all the salespeople suddenly gravitate to her. She says "Remember me? I was here yesterday, and you didn't want to wait on me. You work on commission, right?" Shows expensive bags. "Big mistake. Big. Huge."

Some really good scenes in that movie. I had to write about it for a film studies class, lo these many years ago.
