Now that it's cold we're having an issue with tenants smoking in the back rooms of their stores. I've caught one and know that others are doing it but we actually have to SEE them smoking.

I told my coworker about the problem and she told me that, last week, she had a customer complain to her that a 'woman' was walking through the mall smoking! She looked for the woman, but couldn't find her. Then she walked by our santa set and smelled cigarette smoke. She saw a woman (late middle aged) with a LIT CIGARETTE walk by, put it out in a trash can, and walk into a store. When confronted the woman said "Oh, I thought you could smoke in a mall, just not in the stores."

As far as I know, this has been the law for quite some time!

Depends on your area and/or your level of senility.

There was a mall in my hometown where you could smoke in the mall, but not in most stores. Every bench & garbage can had an ashtray beside it.
I think they went non-smoking about 20 years ago.

I also remember from when I was little being in a grocery store that had ashtrays at the end of every aisle.
