Well this is interesting.
I read BBC America's tweet that the video for Doctor Who "The End of Time part 1" was up on itunes, along with the "Doctor Who Confidential" associated with it. The information on itunes said that it would be "behind the scenes footage" from the episode.
So I clicked "preview" and saw ... well it was some footage of John Barrowman talking about his lifestyle preferences. Okay, a little unusual for behind the scenes footage but he's a Doctor Who character, so I purchased it.
Turns out they uploaded the wrong video. I should have waited a couple of days or something, cos the video turned out to just be John Barrowman. Granted, he's a total cutie and has a nice voice but... it wasn't what they advertised it to be.
This was back on Saturday or Sunday I think.
So I sent an email in to itunes, a polite complaint stating just that... the video wasn't what they advertised it to be.
I received an apology and today I went back to itunes and saw they had a new price tag on the video - 2.99 instead of 1.99. I did a preview and saw David Tennant, so I knew they'd fixed the issue.
I repurchased it, let the file overwrite the original (which I hadn't watched) & also purchased the "Doctor Who Confidential" for "The End of Time Part 2". Both videos were correct (watched em both already
David Tennant getting teary... awww
I know it's only $1.99 but I figured, hey why should I pay for a video twice.
So I replied to the itunes apology. I thanked them for fixing the video, stated that I had repurchased it at the new price tag and then asked if I could have a credit for the original purchase price.
I figure, hey... it's not EWish really, since I'm not asking for anything weird, just a refund on the error video (plus I was polite)
So now I'm waiting for a reply. The worst they'll do is say no.
