  • Fitting Room Fail

The other day I was at the local "mall" to pick up some crafting items when I spied at 70% off sale at the upscale (for our town) department store. Sweet. I was looking at the clothes in the boys section to see if I could find anything for my son when I witnessed this:

Sucky Customer: *walking towards the fitting room in the boys section*

Eagle Eyed Employee: Miss, excuse me miss? Miss?

SC: *looks over with the stink eye at the EEE*

EEE: Miss, that is the dressing room for the boys section.

Sucky Customer: I know, I was just going to try on these clothes.

EEE: That dressing room is only for boys, you will need to use the room over here.

SC: The doors don't lock in that room I always use this one. *points at boys dressing room*

EEE: The doors in here work just fine, you will need to use this one.

SC: Are you serious? I always use this one!

EEE: *Stares at SC but doesn't say another word*

SC: Fine, I will try them on over there. *Heads to the Women's dressing room, where she belonged!*

Very seldom do I take my son clothes shopping with me, he isn't of the age that he really needs to try on clothes yet. But goodness, I would have been very upset to find that woman in the dressing room if my son had been in there trying on clothes.

Sometimes the best way to win an argument is just to stop arguing and give The Look. Well done, EEE!

The best karma is letting a jerk bash himself senseless on the wall of your polite indifference.

The stupid is strong with this one.

Something also tells me that the boy's section must have less security, and if she had an armload of clothes, a few might vanish.

She did have an armload of clothes...and there was NO ONE in the boys/girls section.

I, too, would have been pretty if I had a son trying on clothes and a grown woman was wandering around in there. Same way I would be uncomfortable if a grown man was in a dressing room with my daughter, really. It's just inappropriate, since they are complete strangers. Good for the employee not letting the woman just do whatever she wanted!

Ralerin, your point makes perfect sense, too
