She didn't kill anyone THIS time.

I hate drunk drivers. Even when they do hurt someone, they are almost always oblivious and uncaring, blaming everyone but themselves.
I used to keep an alarm clock and set of work clothes in my car for nights I went out drinking. I have slept in my fair share of parking lots

How about to watch over a Alaskan weather tower for four months straight?
Like what happened to John Laroquette's chracter in "Stripes?"

That would be cool . . . in more ways than one.

Except in Pennsylvania. Around here, road "repair" is a year-round sport

Seriously though, this thread reminds me of what my coworker said when she received her second DUI and spent a night in jail-- "This is *so* unfair. It's not like I killed anyone!" Yeah, you're pissed because you got caught and had to suffer the consequences

One of the suitable punishments suggested was visited upon Major Thorn in the movie Sgt. Bilko.

Hmm, seems ol' Ethan is lucky with just a reduction in pay and losing a stripe...

Reminds me of a sig I saw somewhere.

"There are four seasons in Canada. Winter, Deep Winter, Still Winter and Construction."

ethan should be grateful that all he lost was a paygrade; if he were at a sensitive site, i'm betting he would have lost his ass as well.

this is what the military gets for relaxing recruiting standards.
    Ahem.

Sleeping or drinking on guard duty, during wartime, is punishable by death.

    I think there's "just-outta-winter," "heading-toward-winter," and "almost-winter-again."

Coworker Bob was a SP in the Air Force and spent 2 years on a base in Alaska with 7 other people. He had to do 12 hour shifts, staring at nothing. I think the guy would do just fine there.

well i originally was just thinking a navy ship underway

cos underway... it's really really boring and you have no access to alcohol

basically he's bored in the tower? his job is easy. there's harder jobs out there and he should stop whining like a little girl
He could get stuck doing that job that Charlie Sheen and the black guy were doing in Platoon.
