  • Bite me you idiot clerk.

This happened to me like, twenty-thirty minutes ago. I'm still sick. I'm in no mood for anything. I wobble over to my old store, which is just down the street from me. There is someone I never seen working, not so strange since its been like, almost a year since I worked there. I look over the medicene trying to find aleve, but it seems their out. No big deal. I start to leave. The clerk shouts at me.

Clerk: "Hey. what are you doing"
    ME: "...going home...."
Clerk: "Want to pay for the medicene?"

At this point I turn to look at this stupid idiot. Its barely dawning on me that my old manager should have been on duty, but she's not here.

ME: "...what the hell are you talking about, and Where's Helen?"

Clerk: "I saw you pick up some medicene, and now your leaving. That's stealing"

    .....

I'm not a gawddamn thief. I will admit that I've stolen before. But not ever since I started working for a living. I'm sick. I'm sore. I'm not in a goddamn mood to deal with any sort of stupid idiots.

ME: "where the hell is Helen!?"

Clerk: I'm calling the police. You need to give the medicene back.

ME: .... Fine. I'll call Helen.

I take out my phone and call my old manager. The clerk is glarring at me.

Helen does answer. Rather curious. She first asks if its about my school.

No. I just tell her that the idiot clerk on duty is just calling me a thief. She says ok and hangs up. A few seconds later the phone of store calls. The dumbass answers now looking really freaked out. He then tries to lie to bosslady. Telling her that I pocketed some medicene. He then repeats himself. Over. and Over. He finally says fine. Then ok. Then Ok.

Over and over. I remember those days. She did repeat herself over and over. But as smug as I feel.

ME: "Can I freaking go now!?"

    The clerk just nods.

I leave and start walking home. My phone rings. Its manager who proceeds to tell me that she talked to him, and she knows I'm not a thief and she knows I didn' t steal, I won't steal yadda yadda yadda. I just repeat yes. Yes. Yes. Helen, I'm really sick and I need to go right now.

However, I do know her very well. Even though we both know I don't steal, she'll still check the camera. Just becauses thats who she is. I would do the same.

Hee, should have let him call the police; you didn't steal since you hadn't left the store yet, unless in your state concealment is against the law. Bet Helen would have loved that paperwork!

Oh yeah, even more fun is IIRC Oregon like it's sister state to the north tends to frown on false alarms and such... since as noted Plaid didn't take anything.

Would have loved to have seen the clerks reaction to the cops letting him go.
