This one made me feel bad for the employees only because of my part in it... I shoulda kept my mouth shut.... sigh.
I went to the closest McD's to get lunch for me and my hubby and kiddo. Since it was right at lunchtime, and it had just started gently raining, the drive thru was totally backed up. No problem, I decided to walk in for a to go order. Four people are standing back having already ordered, and there are two people in front of me. I place my order, pay and step back to patiently wait. After about 7 minutes, the lady that took my order advised that they were waiting on chicken nuggets to be finished cooking, but she gave me the kid's meal, and I stay at the counter, but off to the side, out of the way.
Mind you, a lot more people had come in after me, but because they were just ordering sandwiches, they were getting their orders pretty quickly. While I'm standing there, this man standing behind me starts complaining that he's been there for a while and 4 others that ordered after him have gotten their food before him. Hmm... I'm closest to the counter where I can see the orders up, and I can see my order, but not his. So, as soon as a manager comes close, I thought I'd get her attention so he could ask. THAT was my mistake... as soon as I stopped the manager and pointed to the man behind me saying, 'he says he doesn't have his order yet', he started getting absolutely ugly.
As she's asking him what he ordered, another employee thrust a bag of food with his 'order' in front of him. "I'm sorry, sir, we had to cook up another batch of french fries"
"Well, why didn't you tell me that!!" Then he stormed out hollering over his shoulder that they should tell people when they have to wait.
I apologized to the ladies, I'd never have tried to get their attention if I knew he was going to be such a dickhead. They shrugged it off (may they receive a thousand blessings), but sure makes me think twice about southern 'gentlemen'... in 15 years, that is truly the first bi&%^y man I've seen in person. I usually only get them over the phone. He was tall enough, I could've stepped backward one step with my elbow raised..... nah, not worth it.. maybe he'll have a raging case of acid indigestion. yeesh
