Golden Arch Customer Scam

Today at my primary school placement the kids had an athletics day that finished around lunchtime. Needing some junk I walked over to the place of golden arches that is situated convienently next to the primary school.

While I paid for my order, I noticed a guy walking around inside the restaurant near the counter. He eventually went up and demanded the food that he'd paid for, saying that he'd waited 20 minutes. Fair enough I suppose. But things slowly started to unravel:

Worker: ok, what did you order?
SC: Uuuhhhh, I think it was a chicken burger. And a small fries.

BIG mistake there - who can't remember what they've ordered?

He then couldn't remember who served him, but said that it was a female. I overheard the conversation behind the counter - there was only ONE female worker that day, and she hadn't served the SC at all.

Finally SC really f*cked up and claimed that he had ordered through DRIVE THRU! That really doesn't make sense! Plus the only female worker was the one working drive thru and, of course, didn't take an order from anyone looking like SC.

I didn't see the SC leave but I did hear this conversation:

FC: So when I told him I was on DT, he said, 'that's ok, don't worry about it', and left!
W: (rolls eyes) What a surprise!

I know ppl like SC are out there but to see him in action (and getting pwned)

I'm not surprised at all, seems like scammers are anywhere and everywhere. We've had several in the hospital's cafeteria. O

ne woman claimed she went to get food out of the vending machine, but didn't receive her money. So she went through the cafeteria and picked up breakfast, explained what had happened, and asked if the money could be taken off her bill. The cashier wasn't authorized to do so, and told the woman this and went to get a manager. When the manager arrived the woman was gone, and did not bother paying for her food so she basically got a free breakfast.
