  • Subway quickie

Overheard as I was procuring a foot-long roast beef sub from the Wally World Supercenter Subway for my lunch at work tomorrow:

"Yeah, last night these people ordered two pizzas and two foot-longs and tried to pay with a Wal-Mart gift card. Guess whose fridge that all went into?"

Geez people, you're buying the food from Subway. Not Wally World. Is it really so hard to make sure you're paying with something Subway would accept?

Oh, how I hated working in the Wal-Mart McDonald's. But the relevant event was someone who took offense at me (if I remember rightly, it was because I would not let her cut in line, or else because I could not give a refund for what she hadn't bought, something like that; it's been a while and doesn't matter anyway) and proceeded to the WM customer service desk to complain

Someone from WM did actually come over with her to ask what had happened, but left when I'd told her the truth and she'd seen that the other customers were happy.
Now the trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed.
