well last time I saw one was a tiny one with a maybe 2-3 year old kid in it wheeling himself through the mall with his parents-I had no idea they made them that small. seriously the wheelchair was maybe a foot tall.
you would be amazed at the variety of chairs out there!

I cant find the link, but they even have a different hand - lever action wheelchair for pediatrics that look like they would be a blast! [I understand that traditional wheel rims can be seriously hard on childrens hands, and the lever action is better for causing less injuries to forming joints.]
Found the generic link, but not the one to the custom chair article.
EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.

Something kind of like that happened to me recently...I was sitting at a bar having dinner and the guy sitting next to me started talking to me. I thought he was mentally retarded because of the way his eyes looked - there was something different about them. But then he was telling me how he went to law school and was trying to pass the bar exam but kept having trouble with the open book portion of the test.

So I start guffawing and laughing and slapping my knee like an asshole and crowing "How can you have a problem with the open book part?! That has to be the easiest part! What's wrong with you? Hahaha!"

He was blind. Yeah. I'm not very bright.

I agree though, just because the mom was disabled doesn't excuse the kid doing that. But I understand why you felt crappy about it.

        What. The. FUCK.

Seriously? Just cause his eyes are messed up, that means something is wrong with them!?

Yeah, people make fun of my eyes all the damn time because of how they look, and I am NOT mentally disabled.

You really need to learn that looks do not matter.

I didn't mean to insult you, Plaidman, or anyone with a disability. But I am just being honest - I thought he looked as though he had down's syndrome. Not to be insulting, that is just how he looked, I think because of his blindness (he was born blind). To me, it is not an insult to think someone has down's syndrome. That is just how some are born.

I would never make fun of anybody. Ever. I got made fun of constantly when I was a child to the point where I left school. I don't have a negative thing to say about anyone. But with the way his eyes and face in general were formed, he first looked to me as if he had down's syndrome. I wasn't judging him, that was only my impression. We sat and talked for a few hours, and never once did I insult him (intentionally at least). That's why I felt like such a jackass when I realized he was blind, since I made such a big deal about him having problems with an open book test.
