That's what I'm calling it at least
Basically throughout the calibration facility we have windows that face East, South, and West. and like all places on the outskirts of downtown here it has an elevated crime level
so sometimes you just see really ... unusual things from the windows.
so far i've only been privy to two events - both this week: the earthquake and the kid who got hit by a car (posted in the roadkill section). but i've heard plenty of stories so far, good, bad, and wtf
....
good
- cops raided a house almost directly across the road from us to apprehend some guy who'd attacked police. they had a lot of cop cars and shot guns ... but they got the guy without any casualties
bad
- family moved in - actually it may have been that same house or one near it - and i guess one of the items they were transporting was a shotgun... and they didn't move it unloaded. the man shot his own nephew. and ... apparently they - or the medics - felt the best place to put him was out on the lawn. i don't envy my coworkers on that one... cos they were "treated" with the view of watching the kid die.
wtf?
- someone tossed a dog up onto the roof of the one-story building across the road from us. the dog was apparently fine, just stuck on the roof. one of the men in the lab (who looks a little like santa) called it in to 911. they transferred him to the fire dept and a truck was sent out, and a fireman went up the ladder to get the doggy.
i just never know what i'm going to see ...
